I am a recent owner of a Pit Barrel Cooker and let me say I am amazed at how well your product works and cooks. In the two weeks since I have had it I have cooked Whole Chickens, Sausage, Smoked Hamburgers, Smoked Salmon, and Pork Spare Ribs. Everything that I have cooked has turned out perfect. Over the years I have cooked on Webber grills, Offset Smokers, and Upright electric smokers. None of the cookers I have ever used are as easy, low maintenance and turned out as good of food as your product. I just finished cooking two chickens in my brand new Pit Barrel Cooker, and I SWEAR, it is the best chicken I have ever cooked! For some reason, which I could not figure out, I could never get the chicken to come out evenly. It was always burned in one spot and raw in another. It so frustrated me. I’ve done brisket, ribs, fish, pizza, but the chicken always was a problem…..and I love chicken, so I really wanted to find my way! I always cooked it on a horizontal smoker too, it never came out correctly, but, this vertical smoked RULES. Its so easy and fool proof! The chicken today came out perfect, just like you said on your videos Noah! It took two hours on the nose and I only lifted the lid an hour into the cook to take a peak. My mouth watered when I did! The seasoning is excellent, and I’m a Cajun, I know GREAT food! The only thing I will do differently is maybe cook it another 15 minutes to achieve that perfect breakaway meat to bone tear. When the coals were ready I poured the coals into the firebox. I then inserted the rods and hung the chicken on them. I just wanted to take a moment to let you know that I received the Pit Barrel on Friday and started my adventure on Saturday. First cook on the Pit Barrel were ribs that turned out FANTASTIC! I have never seen my 12 year old son eat every morsel off of chicken bones like he did tonight. My only complaint……cooked early this morning and now 12 hours later I go to empty and cover it, and it is STILL at cooking temp! Haha. That’s a good complaint though.
